What a crazy past couple of days. I came home Tuesday night and was unloading groceries from my car to find a dog out in the parking lot. I looked for his owner, and I noticed he didn't have a collar or anything on. Since I live next to a freeway, I got a leash I had on my dresser and brought him inside my apartment. He was really good with my cats until dumbass Amadeus swatted at him. Then all hell broke loose, and he started chasing them and whining, because he wanted to play. My cat Twinx then leaped off of my balcony, and I had to run downstairs and find his dumb ass. Luckily, he hadn't hurt himself...
I planned on taking him to the humane society yesterday, but my sister's been looking for a friend for her dog, so I figured since this dog obviously wasn't taken care of by his previous owners, I'd rather let her have him if she wanted. I spent yesterday taking care of him over at my parents' house until she got off work, so she could come look at him. We then maipulated her b/f to give the dog a chance and let him come over and stay with them. The two dogs got along really well. I was a little weary about letting them meet right off, but my sister thought it'd be ok since they were both older puppies. She was right. They did fine, and there was no fighting. I'm still going to talk to the humane society and put his pic up on some web sites just in case the old owner's looking for him, though.
While all this was going on, I severely reinjured my back. I injured it while playing tuba my freshman year in college, and I think it's the same injury...It's even hard to sit here and type. This sucks, too, because I start my new job this next week, and I have to be able to lift 50 lb dogs up on the surgery and x-ray tables. I'm hoping that if I lay off the high heels and don't go out dancing that I'll be ok to do this sort of work. I'm kinda burnt out on dancing anyways (for obvious reasons not having anything to do with actual dancing), so it all works out.
