NY Show, Dead smurfs and more

We had a show in Springville, NY last night. There were a couple of hundred kids there. Excellent time! You know, I would LOVE to do a show every weekend if it was as awesome as yesterday was. So many bands around here are setting up tours and taking off...dropping their Taco Bell jobs, and whatever, and going for it. I don't want to give up my career...but sometimes, it bums me out. There's no chance in just taking off and letting loose. I am REALLY flippin' pumped about the new disc. I KNOW it's going to be enjoyed by the heavy crowd. We might lose some of our "older" fans, but many of the young kids will dig the heaviness of it. We just gotta keep doing the type of music we love to do...eventually, hopefully, the trends will swing our way, and we won't have to compromise our love of our music to get signed. I'd feel shitty about it if that were necessary.

I jammed with Jarid and Brent tonight, which was cool. I wouldn't mind getting something going with them because it's in a different vein than KKC. I can't dedicate myself to it. I mentioned the idea of a female vocalist, but they both seemed disinterested. Someday, I will be in a music endeavor with female vocals. I don't know why people think girl singers can't rock. I've heard 'em. They're out there. And SOME of them actually know how to sing in tune, too! I'm telling you, they exist. Somewhere. In fantasy land? Perhaps.

There's nothing about dead smurfs in this journal. I was fucking with you.

We also met up with Joshy Gaughn yesterday at Quaker in Erie, PA. He's awesome. It was really cool to see an old friend, and just fell right back into conversation with him like he never left (oh, around five or six years ago).

KKC CD release shows! March 3rd at the Binghi and March 4th at Section 8. I hope some of my LJ friends will come and get a new disc! I love it.

It's Ramen noodles time.
