Turn your dial -- or web browser -- to CBP tomorrow morning for your requisite weekly dose of audio-based fun and high times, now with a solid hour of Chris Standring, the guitarist whose groovalicious -- his word, not mine -- tracks have, since 1998, been combining the traditional, the retro and the modern to excellent results. Not only will I be spinning the best of Chris’ current solo work, but I’ll also dip into the recordings of Solarsystem, the mid-90s project that featured Mr. Standring alongside rapper C.R.A.S.H. As if the music weren’t enough, I’ll also be discussing Chris Standring’s various other works, such as his instructional jazz guitar courses and e-book of anecdotes about just what it’s like to relocate from merry old England to Hollywood.
If you aren’t within the broadcasting range of KCSB (which means the greater Santa Barbara County region), don’t fret; the show, along with the rest of the station’s programming, is available on an official
webcast which is listenable via iTunes, Winamp, Realaudio and, I would imagine, several other popular media players.
