(no subject)
Today was pretty good, woke up and fed my internet addiction for a bid. Then ran off to school to buy my books. So apparently, each sociology 101 teacher uses a different book for his/her class, all by this Macionis dude, which made finding the book way more difficult than it needed to be. Then apparently the school's bookstore is out or doesn't carry the book so I guess I'll have to look for it on amazon or barnes and noble or something. I have the ISBN number so it's all good.
Later Bi-Ying, Alvina and I went to the beach for a couple of hours. Great weather for the beach. I didn't really feel like swimming so I just read in the sand after I ate my lunch. I didn't finish my whole sandwich so i put it in the bag and left it next to me before I laid down for a bit and the seagull came right up next to me and grabbed it and flew away several feet. Then a whole flock of them started fighting over the sandwich. Alvina threw my shoe and some rocks at them. It was great.
For dinner I tried Pho for the first time. It was....interesting. It didn't really taste bad or anything but it had this strange aroma about it that I couldn't quite place and it didn't strike me as particularly appetizing. The soup and the noodles tasted fine, and I ate some of the beef too. The tendons kinda creeped me out though, they're kinda stringy and they have little bumps on them. They had a similar texture/consistency to jellyfish which was kind weird. But I figured I'd try it. I'd probably eat Pho again and the place had good egg rolls.
