[for the past couple of weeks, Chigusa has been haunting the Onsen Inn, rarely leaving or interacting with those that don't first approach him, either sitting idly by a window or out on the porch, watching the day go by. tonight he's taken up his usually spot outside, and is staring out at nothing in particular.]

[it's been a couple days since Chigusa's passed out. there have been no signs of him waking at all during this time, but his physical form has slowly been changing back to normal. his hair's gotten shorter and his physique has filled out to what it was before.]

[Rakan has mostly stopped trying to wake him up. instead, he sits for hours holding his hand]

[has been completely back to normal for a little while now, and after a moment, his fingers twitch]

--Chigusa?

[smoothcriminal]

[makes a faint noise, and his eyebrows knit together]

[polyculture]

[leaning over him, searching his face]

It's all right. You can wake up, right?

[smoothcriminal]

[closes his hand on Rakan's, squeezing tightly]

[squeezing back]

It's me. It's Rakan.

[smoothcriminal]

[his eyelids flicker and he brings a hand to his hand]

--Ah.

[holds on tighter, waiting]

[smoothcriminal]

[eventually he drops his hand and his eyes open, turning his head to look at Rakan, and he simply stares at him for a very long moment, much longer than it should be]

. . . Rakan.

Chigusa!

[flinging himself on the bed]

[smoothcriminal]

[oofs and wraps his arms around him]

Rakan? What's wrong?

I'm sorry. I couldn't--!

[chokes]

[sits up slowly, wincing a bit, his voice is worried]

Rakan?
