On Saturday, Aaron and I leave for Iceland. People who've been there are excited about our trip. Two of my coworkers won't shut up about it, in fact. Many of the rest are asking, "Why?"

I've wanted to go since a coworker visited for New Year's a few years back. Then I saw this documentary, called Huldufolk, on IFC. The film was about Icelanders who believe in elves and trolls and dwarves and whatnot. But the real star of the show was the surreal Icelandic landscape. I resolved to go.

And just moments ago, I found this:

Hafnarfjördur has one of the richest elf and spirit population among all towns in Iceland. The lava is especially alive with them, with more than 20 types of dwarfs, four types of gnomes and all manner og elfin beings.

We are so going there.
