The
number of students, staff, and faculty who showed up on an hour's notice for a brief memorial given by the Chancellor and the variety of contributors to today's paper (including the vice-chancellor for student affairs) is a testament to her wide-reaching effect on the campus. While she lived, I don't think I've ever witnessed a UNC SBP so universally lauded - the DTH had been running its traditional end-of-term analysis of her time in office, and they were pretty darn complimentary. That is rare in itself.
