Are you saying it costs about 50 cents a minute to use your cell phone? Are text messages much cheaper, is that why everyone does it? They're all Yankees fans? Did you see the Yankees got crushed by the Sox 17-3 yesterday and lost again today?

Yeah it's 50 cents per minute and 9 cents for a text message. Everything is double to reach the States. I think most people here don't know that the Yankees are a baseball team, just that it has something to do with New York. Dude, why are the Sox so good all of a sudden? Did they get a good trade or something?

Hey Caesar, for some reason I was thought Coop was referring to the White Sox... they're having an amazing season (35-18)!

well sarah, you shouldnt be too surprised b/c the same things are in style here. pumas, huge sunglasses, sequined sandals, state shirts... all the same here. The new style for girls now though (and a personal favorite of mine, esp. when its on every part of the outfit) is sequins and glitter. EVERYTHING now has sequins or glitter on it. Shirts, pants, PURSES, shoes, belts, huge gaudy jewelery pieces. ITS EVERYWHERE!! Anyway, just thought i'd let you know that you don't even escape this stuff in AA. Hope you're still enjoying your time in beirut! can't wait til you get back!
