I have some ideas about how to spruce up our patio mulling around in my head. There are a few little home projects I'd like to finish before we have two very special guests staying at The RubinSmo Manor in May. Consider this post a scrapbook page of sorts: noting certain swatches of color, patterns, texture and design I'd like to work into our patio space.
I really like those fabrics by
Camilla David. I'm hoping (barring I learn how to use my sewing machine sometime in the next five minutes) that I can sew covers for the cushions on our patio furniture. That way I can remove and wash them, as our patio gets a lot of grit dumped on it pretty regularly. And I want to create a stained wood floor for our outdoor space. But I'd also like that floor to be somewhat of an art piece, so I'll be drilling very strategic holes in it and weaving white shoestring through the holes. Trust me: it sounds weird but will look amazing. And I'd like to jazz it up a bit with some mossy terrariums. I'm pretty good at killing just about everything. But I hear terrariums are pretty idiot proof. I'm willing to give them a try. And I might play around with one or two decals for the giant windows, just to add a bit of depth and decor to the space. We'll see how it plays out. I promise to do before and after photos.
