To clarify: Like some of the most rabid right-wingers, I think any attempt to make hay from Rudy's cross-dressing tendencies is pretty silly. The NAMBLA thing, on the other hand, is pure political poison. If there's one rule for success in national politics, it's "stay the hell away from NAMBLA."

As a person who's done plenty of dumb things in their life, I can totally imagine the horrible, sinking feeling in the stomach of the staffer who scheduled him for the appearance in that parade.
