Well, its official, Mom is gone and I won't see her for over a year. She called me a little before 11pm to tell me she was getting ready to board her plane (I took her to the airport Sunday so she could fly to LA for "staging" and tonight the whole group left from LA). She gave me the hotel number for where she'll be staying when she arrives tomorrow morning but if I don't hear from her in the morning, I won't be able to try calling her until 8pm our time. They're 4 hours behind us so it'll only be 4pm her time.
Ugh, anyway, aside from being on the verge of another emotional breakdown (had one Sunday after we left the airport) I'm stressed and sore from packing and moving. I hate moving yet I seem to have done it every year or so (sometimes less) since I was 18. This move makes the 9th time in less than 5 years.... Oh well, at least now I get to stay in one place for a couple years.
Still, trying to find room for all my stuff and store Mom's stuff is a bit of a headache. Today I conquered the bookshelves and the bathroom. Well, I didn't really win against the bookshelves but I did manage to claim one as my own and squished nearly two whole bookshelves onto one. As for the bathroom... The majority of her stuff I managed to stuff into the bottom cupboard in the bathroom. I love my Mom but I like my stuff more than hers hehe. Now I just need to decorate the bathroom and its all done. The bedroom is still missing most the furniture (it has the mattress and boxspring though!) so that'll take a bit more work.
Likely all the big furniture will be moved over here Friday. Jenn's husband Mike is going to help Skip and I (mostly Skip as I'll be at work for part of the time) move the big stuff. Until then, Skip and I are moving everything over in shifts. Load up boxes, bring them over to the new place, unload em, then take em back and reload em. Its kinda a long and annoying process but it gets it done for a lot cheaper than a U-haul truck.
Anyway, I'm rambling now to keep my mind off Mom so I'm just gonna go bury my nose in a book. Said book being Dark Demon by Kristine Feehan (I think?). Races recommended it and I love it! Now I know where she got a few of her character names too hehehehe.
