After quickly perusing through some livejournals, I noticed that people have been writing about graduation, and Tara even went as far as to give some advice to the graduating class. I think I'll follow suit in my rude, abrasive, sarcastic, and all around smartass manner as well. And I can do so, because I've already pissed my readers off and no one will see this ;-)

Firstly, Highschool is SHIT. Don't worry about all the times you were made fun of, or all of the times you were embarassed. Don't worry about any of the trivial relationships, romantic or platonic that arose, got stomped down, and eventually faded. It all amounts to a hill of gross, maget infested mound of horse lovecakes (that's shit to all of the lay people out there in web-land). ALERT!Don't take this as free reign to dismiss everything. Highschool did have a hand in psychologically shaping you and building a nice layer of thick-skin (as the voted worst dresser probably turned out to be homelss). This was a milestone, but 90% of the experiences that people DWELL on, end up ruining their mental health and changing them into freaks. (E.G. My sister never finished her senior edition yearbook collection for Winfield Highschool because everyone pissed her off, and she STILL gets nasty emails--Get a life and go figure, right?)

Next, keep your eyes on the prize, go to college. Take it from a guy who decided that he COULDN'T decide what he wanted to do, and ended up working for a restaurant franchise that BLATANTLY CHEATED IT'S EMPLOYEES AND ROUTINELY EXPLOITED PEOPLE OFF THE CLOCK AND CUASED GREIF ON MANY LEVELS. Of course, I stood up against this, and got the axe for causing trouble. Insubordination--or going against the (very illegal) grind. But if I could do it over, I would. I made a statement and directly affected the lives of those I worked closely with, who have almost all recently moved on to better jobs or at least demanded recognition for the ones they already work. But I learned two things: If you can stand up for your principals, no matter how unpopular you become, then it's worth it FOR YOU...the other thing I learned is that most of this problem of crooked backstabbing-worthless-nogood-piece-of-shit-evil companies and things can be avoided if you at least get a higher education. Suffer through it, if not for me, or your parents--for your self and your not so distant future. It's all about being able to support yourself, and have piece of mind...plus you make more money, and face it...it's all about the benjamins.

Why be a fry-cook, when you can get a business administration degree and get paid to do less work than the fry cooks, and even boss them around? Of course, I hope you treat everyone equally as I ..... .... TRY... ... to do. That's what seperates me from the people I worked under. Yeah I bought into the corporate bullshit at one point, but now I stand for myself. Another thing to remember though is that you must be proactive; Hippies have it right, it's all about chilling and grooving, and love... but sadly, many hippyesque personality types don't get anywhere in life. Be successful, but be down to earth and have a sense of humor. You'll drive yourself insane otherwise. Just do me a favor and pick moments to take a stand and practice non-conformity, otherwise just live by the practice mentally and think for yourself. You may be forced to eat a little dirt every now and then in order to be successful, but NEVER let anyone walk on you or treat you as a doormat. Stop bleating like the rest of the sheep, but keep the wool, it'll be worth something later. You get out what you put in....WHEN YOU DEMAND THE RIGHT THING.

Now, go out unto the world and wreck havoc, have fun, eat, drink, and be marry. Have fun, but get somewhere. You'll be patting yourself on the back in a matter of years--trust me.

OR not... the choice IS yours to fuck up in the end.

With that said, I'll be attending college in the Fall 2006 semester, a round of applause, not for me...but for someone who is FINALLY getting there life on the right track, per se.
