All throughout grade school I had shark dreams. There was no violence in them, though, just fear. I'd be swimming in the ocean, and then I'd decide to dive down, and I'd see this huge shark underwater with me, just watching me and waiting. And I knew that it was going to come for me and I should try to get away, but I'd be paralyzed with terror. Much later I realized that the shark might've been a subconscious metaphor for national exams, 'cause I always had those nightmares around exam periods, and I stopped having those dreams entirely in college.
More recently I've been having dreams about being on a sinking ship. Not like one or two dreams but dozens, so definitely a recurring thing. More precisely, I'll get into a little boat, like a canoe or something, and start paddling out into the ocean, but the boat will start to fill with water and eventually I'll be sitting waist-deep in water, still paddling desperately and trying to keep afloat. This is probably some boring school/work-related thing where I don't know if I can support myself and my lifestyle in the future lolol
Kinda unrelated, but a weird side effect of having all these dreams is that I've become kinda afraid of water, particularly the sea. When I was little I used to love swimming, but I haven't gone in a really long time now. o.o The power of dreams, I guess.
