Remember When
You ever wish you could go back to the way things were, long, long ago (hah. or like, 4 years)? I mean, I know its selfish, but I know that everyone thinks this way. I was just listening to a comcast internet "indie" station, and Sunny Day Real Estate was on, and it reminded me of my "Carrie" days. I just smiled.
And when I say go back, I don't necessarily mean 'change things' or the whole 'if I knew then, what I know now' stuff.. but just to go back for a while.. hang out in the old days. I think so much would be different. I mean, I wouldn't change now for anything.. but those days.. man.. on my deck, "hanging out," driving around in the white 'scort wagon taking bumps in the road at 90mph. The days with Julia, when Mike and Ryan tackled us to the ground to fart on our heads. Going to Pinball Pete's with Matt and kicking his ass in air hockey.. hah.. fun times.
Wow.. great music on this damn station. SDRE, Jeff Buckley (ahh.. Dearborn Music, Brian G, and Joe Phillips and the tree trunk legs). Going through college at that time, thinking I would NEVER find an actual career in what I majored in (one of which I start Monday, holy crap!!). Dr. Stern telling me to "dump the musician because it would never last." Wow. Music is a very powerful thing.. I can't believe I haven't listened to this stuff in so long... its so good.
