DAMN CABLE MODEM

Aug 09, 2003 12:50

i was talking to jennifer last night/this morning, when my modem died. the first failure lasted only about 10 minutes. i reconnected after that time, and we resumed our conversation. THEN, about 45 minutes later, IT DIED AGAIN. this time, it didnt come back until 3 am-ish, and jennifer had already gone to sleep :(
im seriously considering calling time warner cable and threatening them in a way much like this (yes, i thought about this while the cable was out):
im going to call them and leave a message--
"Hello, my name is Steven Pollack [i have to use my fathers name, hes the one paying], and i am a monthly subscriber, not only to cable TV and every premium channel, but also cable internet. I pay over $100 a month, but for some reason, you must not value me as a customer. Every single day for the past 9 months [blatant exagerration], my cable modem has been out for at least an hour. These hours are not split up, nor are they during an off hour (6-10AM). There are consecutive hours at a time that i cannot use your "wonderful" [im going to say it as much like an asshole as i can] cable lines for my browsing and chatting. Im afraid that after contacting my lawyer, im going to have to give you this information, and youre going to have to comply to avoid severe legal action. You have seven (7) days to:
A. Fix the problem. this means that i will never disconnect for over 10 minutes and it will not happen more than twice a month. You may have to replace the cable lines in my entire neighborhood, due to the fact that i have been told they were not installed correctly BY YOUR OWN WORKERS. if replacement needs to be done, you will have 1 month (30 days).
B. Send a technician out to my home, every day until the problem has been resolved. i would like another (NOT A REPLACEMENT) signal amplifier. I will be home from 1pm-2pm.
If you do not comply, im afraid you will recieve a very unfriendly letter from a very respectable law firm.
Thank you in advance for fixing my cable.
[mutters barely audible] 'lazy morons...'
