The Star-crossed lovers remain separated.
With the addition of a bunch of guppies from The Sailors tanks (he has some beautifully grown out tanks), Florence's food related aggression hasn't changed. However with so many targets, it's been spread out so has less impact. Guppies have so much going on in their day-to-day, what with all the eating, flirting, showing off, and chasing each other, that they really dgaf about other fish,
Dally seems to be much happier and swimming about quite freely with some guppies for company, despite the fact they for the most part they ignore him. One of the guppy girls also seems to be a bit of a food bitch, but she doesn't discriminate, and will nip anyone in her way.
The Sailor also provided some red root floating plants which look quite nice and add extra cover for fry, including the at least half dozen who weren't in the bag when I brought them home. So someone was pregnant.
I've also added 4 baby bristlenose, and 4 blue-eye lemon Pleco fry to the tub. Both are also "idgaf" fish, and aren't particularly considerate of personal space, but as small as they are right now, they're moving on when they get booped by either hungry guppies, or cranky Florence.
There's two albino bristlenose in the tank with Dally and his guppy gang, but they've clearly found some of the many hiding spots and I haven't seen too much of them.
Add in way too many Malaysian Trumpet Snails, and the collection is coming along nicely.
I broke up my sole piece of driftwood into three, and the attached Anubias into more pieces, and tied it to the wood and some useful rocks so soon it should take hold and start growing on those as well.
Lions lost to SRT, some poor bowling got punished, and we dropped quite a few catches, but otherwise a pretty good effort from a group of the less experienced recruits. Good to see the SRT boys, and they were pretty surprised to see me playing for another team. I spent the day behind the stumps, and that plus a six or seven over spell on Saturday's Apaches win will have me feeling sorry for myself tomorrow. At least I don't have a 100 km round trip tomorrow, because ...
My "dream" bike got sold, which on reflection is probably a good thing. It was pointed out to me that both insurance and registration go up in price with the increased engine size, which I did not consider. I'm sure another will pop up later on.
