Hope you get feeling better soon. And I agree - he probably is very used to people ignoring him - in certain areas like that, bystander apathy is the status quo.

No, that is not how it should be, but sadly that is how it is. Having worked out of Oak Cliff for all those years, it is easy to see how it happens. There will always be those vampires that leech on society and will suck you dry for everything you have if you let them. The problem is when you get one area with a high concentration of such people, you almost do have to "tune them out" so to speak or they will never let you get anything done . And where it gets really sad is that sometimes people that truly need help are overlooked because the others have made people so jaded.
