Stalking Steve Poltz part VIII
or
Chewbacca : What a Wookiee
for halomouse So who went to another Poltz concert? That would be me.
Who had the feature artist give him an odd look through the window. That would be me, not you.
Who did said feature artist get up from his dinner for and who did he greet with "Hey, how long has it been since i last saw you?" and a manly hug? Yup, me again.
Who said "Hey you're good at that Mr Australia. Come up here and do that into the mike."? That would be Poltz.
Who proceeded to dance like the twelve year old girl that he secretly is and continued to make
good and appropriately timed Chewbacca noises while feature artist and former Rugburns drummer Stinky hit it with the song? That would be me. Who should be jealous? All of you.
So another fine gig, plus some photos and a copy of the gig on CD. Only had Uncle (Hal) Harry and
dragonladyng with me, because the rest of you Texans are soft or something.
Also present that
5tephe and
evilmegsy will remember was Mokey, Poltz's old junior high buddy and according to Mr P, "one of the best pool players i know", which is a worry because i think
5tephe and
i had them about to run a lap doing the "pants dance", and we suck at pool.
Mokey has moved to Dallas and apologises for not remembering me because "I was drunk the whole time in Australia."
Stinky the Rugburns drummer is, as most drummers are, mad as a hatter but also pretty damn cool, and he and i rocked to the Sex Pistols later at the bar, when
dragonladyng and i hung out with him at the bar. He was also lavish with praise for my wookiee noises (which i don't understand, because it's not that hard to do, although damaging my vocal chords and causing my voice to break when i was a kid doing Yoda noises is probably part of it). There was no Poltz at the bar, that i could find, which may lend some truth to the farcical idea that he has quit drinking - which is what he says, so please check when he returns to Australia in August.
dragonladyng and Uncle Harry walked me around Deep Elllum for a while telling me about all the clubs that they used to hang out in "in the old days".
