Retail Therapy

I went to a CD store, actually into a CD store and did not buy anything stupid. I bought the CD i was looking for, and a new album by the same artist, that i had also wanted when it was released sometime last year. Sure the duration of the whole trip was around three minutes, but that's not relavant.

I survived. I am so proud.

Fucking Aye! I can never remember what the hell I wanted whenever I walk into a record store, and invariably end up flipping through the Tom Waits section. (Which is completely pointless because I already own all of his stuff.) and then head on out. My musical tastes have been permanatly arrested at 1993.

So what didja buy anyway?

Paul Kelly's Nothing But A Dream..., which is very much a The Heart of Saturday Night for me, it's key difference being that i think Kelly is a better singer than Waits. And he's Australian - widely regarded as a uniquely Australian voice by a lot of people, comparisons to Bob Dylan abound.

mp3s you can steal. Some of my fave songs - the Paul Kelly directory is the whole album. I recommend the first three and the last three songs, but Gods it is a good album.

I lent the album to someone sometime ago and cannot find it, and really needed to listen to it yesterday, so had to just go bite the bullet, pay HMV's extortionist price and buy it.

It's what i needed right now.

and i can't be left unsupervised in book / cd / dvd shops, because i carry a fair bit of cash on a regular basis, and have a credit card, and am not afraid to use it.

I try to buy online once in a while, christmas or around my birthday, but special sales kill me and i end up with an $800 order that i really don't need to i cancel it and don't even buy the couple of things i really want.

I tried the link and it crashed my computer.

We are going to get into a lot of trouble come the fall. I can't pay any of my bills because "walking around money" is at the very least $200.00

Drunken sailors. And their money. Yarr!
