My New Years Tale...

Jan 01, 2004 07:29

i imagine it might be a bit strange for you to be reading about a New Years eve, that you are yet to experience.

long, rambling, mature content, sexist thoughts and drug use. you just can't click fast enough can you?... )

i see drunk people, drugs, cigarettes, fun, even numbered year, ea!, friends, drinking, girls, good+times

You are an amazing writer! Maybe I am extra senstive to your style and use of words because I work in a publishing house, but I am not sure that is the case. I don't think your talent would be lost on many. Even us "stupid Americans in America!" Ever read Dave Eggers' book "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius" ?

Huh, who am I?? Just some NYC chick (hummm can you consider 35 still a chick?) who found your journal somehow. You were on a friend list of another journal that I was reading at the insistance of a friend of mine. Friend of a friend of a friend kind of thing. I think I am dizzy from that explaination. I guess I stumbled to the right place. : )

I've always preferred to read the written word. Writing it might be an interesting turn, however. I will have to think on it. What do you read?? What inspires you?

And weeeeeeeeeeeeeee I am a chick!!

i read lots of bits and pieces, but not as much as a working writer should, hence i am not a working writer.

I've got a background of reading pulp-fiction, so short atmospheric and to the point pieces, but at the same time i know how to ramble in a sequence so that it make sense. It's hard to say what inspires me. I get angry easily, and rant a lot because it's fun and it means i write something with conviction and passion.

I'm pretty much a sum total of what i have done and where i have been, politics, sports, roleplaying, the stage, film and tv, acting, advertising, being a drunk, croupier, student, music, organisation, rivalry, competition. I guess we all are.

Not very good answers i know, but that's all i've got right now.

Ah, but I think you are a working writer. Just my humble opinion!! Anger is an excellent tool for writers, I am also a strong believer in adversity, grief, faith, and of course love, in all of their forms. You are right, writers need to read, a lot...some feel it jumbles the brain, I think it encourages focus and determination.
