What is your favorite television pairing?

I know, they've already taken Most Heartbreaking Scene, but even when I tried narrowing down to canon couples only, Clark and Lana were really the only ones who could be in this spot. I don't know how or when this happened. I guess after writing from her perspective for several years and learning what makes her tick, I understand how Clark and anyone else could be so incredibly drawn in by this girl. She was nowhere near perfect, but wanted to make the same kind of positive impact on the world as Clark since the very first season. I'm not saying they never had their issues, because they had TONS of them. In fact, I think the thing I love so much about them is the sheer amount of effort they put into making it work. I still think it could have if they hadn't been forced apart. Of course, we'll never know. Even if Kristin Kreuk would have stayed for the remainder of the series, it's not the story that's been told for decades, so there would always be a reason they couldn't be together. I don't care who he's destined to be with, I find that disappointing both as a fan of the couple and as a writer.
To anyone who wants to tell me to get over it? No. I like what I like. You get over that.
