A Kickstarter That Could Potentially Be For A Sequel to Psychonauts!
Update: I was wrong about this.. it's not for Psychonauts 2.. oh well.. well here's hoping it gets made too.
Psychonauts is one of my favorite games it has a lot of uniqueness to it and is much loved by everyone who has played it. The only problem is the ending leaves it wide open for a sequel and so far none has materialized.
Tim Schafer.. the creator of Psychonauts at Double Fine Productions said he would like to do a sequel but doesn't have the funds to. Later on Markus Persson AKA Notch of Minecraft fame decided to help fund it. What's interesting to me is… at PC Gamer I left a comment saying if need be they could do a kickstarter project for it and also sent a tweet to the aforrementioned fellows also saying this.
So today I discovered that there is now a kickstarter project for a new game at Double Fine.. so I'm now a backer. I pledged $30.. they said if they exceed the goal that a Mac version will be a possibility. I don't know if they got the idea from me or what but it was still an interesting coincidence if not.
I know I'll be keenly following this development and hope they exceed their goal so there can also be a Mac version of this new Double Fine game.. whether it's Psychonauts 2 or not… they usually make unique fun games either way.
Also the original Psychonauts featured the voice of Invader Zim as the main character! I hope he returns!
