Today I tried out the demo for "
Tomb Raider Anniversary" and it actually worked well enough on my PC Laptop to be playable.
[screenshot of intro screen] That game in case you don't know is a remake of the original Tomb Raider and that's why I was interested. The game is compatible with either Keyboard + Mouse or a gamepad but I chose to use a gamepad because it seems a more gamepad friendly game. This was especially true in the past when I played the original on the PC with my 3Dfx Voodoo graphics card.
Pretty much any modern PC can handle TRA it it seems if my old laptop can.... I kind of wish a Mac version was being simultaneously made I know it'd play better on my Mac than on my PC because my Mac has an actual graphics card and not integrated graphics. Those of you with 8800 cards would get incredible performance at the highest resolutions of course.
But anyway I like some of the improvements in the new version especially how she glistens when she leaves the water and her clothes dry realistically and her acrobatic moves work really good once you have gotten a hang of the controls.
I know one thing Adia would complain about a bit... her booty shorts seem to have shrunk maybe a little more as they always seem to do. =P
The makers of the adventure\horror game
penumbra overture announced the Mac demo is out at Inside Mac Games recently. But the torrent file for the demo doesn't seem to work at least yet. I would like to give that game a try on my Mac.
This is pretty interesting. Basically it's a replica of the gun Ripley used in Aliens, the M41-A Pulse rifle. One thing I didn't know about it that it was made from actual gun parts and the "grenade launcher" was actually a shotgun. I wouldn't mind if mine was a bit less real than that though if it's cheaper.
