It's been awhile

Since I wrote a poem.........but last night put me in a poetry mood. Ah, the joys of life.

My head knows this is pointless
But my heart refuses to give up
I love who you are, who you make me,
But the whole time I'm plagued with doubt.

I expect nothing more from you than friendship
But I want so much more.
You make me feel loved, wanted, needed.
But I know how this will end.

Most of my time is spent thinking of you
But another occupies your thoughts.
I can't help the way that I feel about you,
But this situation might tear me apart.
