E-Town’s Forster Marries Lou Reed
When Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson decided to tie the knot in Boulder, CO on April 12, they called on none other than E-Town host Nick Forster to officiate the ceremony. Forster is an ordained minister from the Universal Life Church, and he married the couple in the backyard of a mutual friend's home while Anderson was in town for a show at the Boulder Theater, where E-Town is taped. The backyard ceremony was attended by only five people: Lou, Laurie, their two close friends whose yard it was, and Forster.
“It was really interesting," Forster told the Rocky Mountain News. "I went out on Friday night and sat with them to do the conversation you have. We just talked about how they'd like to have the service go. Saturday morning was a lovely morning. We agreed on the fundamental ingredients. Basically just did the thing." He added, "Laurie is one of the great minds of our times, a brilliant observer of culture and art. Lou is clearly a guy who's had a role as a contrarian… The reality is they've been together for 16 years. They're both really bright. They were really sweet with each other. They love each other a lot."
Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson have long been one of the most fascinating couples on the planet. I wish them many more years of continued happiness. :)
