Sigh. So, you remember how two posts ago I said that I had to hurry up and put money in the bank because I had to buy a microwave or else Joe was threatening to buy one for me? Well, I forgot to mention yesterday that I didn't get the money in the bank quick enough (like, at all) and Joe bought me a microwave. It's a very nice microwave but I still kinda wish he hadn't gotten it. It's not that I don't appreciate it, because I totally do... I just... I'm not used to having boyfriends buy things for me -- let's just say that my dating history includes a lot of cheapskates and tightwads -- and I don't want him to think that I expect him to buy me stuff all the time. Dinner every once in a while is one thing but I figured I should draw the line at kitchen appliances. I talked to my mom about it and she seemed to think it wasn't a big deal, and reminded me that if he didn't really want to get it for me, he would have taken no for an answer the first 50 times I said no and wouldn't have been so persistent. She also reminded me that with my resistance and just the way that Joe and I are, he knows that that's not all I'm after, and that there are plenty of ways for me to show him such... so after all this talking, I gave in. It's just weird... I'm not used to getting gifts except on birthdays and Christmas. Perhaps I'm making too big a deal out of this. I'm just gonna suck it up and enjoy my microwave and promise myself to cook Joe all the Hot Pockets he could possibly eat in a lifetime, haha.

That's about it.... I just got the urge to write about that. As I mentioned yesterday, I'm going to go to Target today to get a new comforter and mattress topper. Fortunately enough, the ones I want of each are on sale this week and are ending up saving me about 30 bucks. Yay!

Wow, this is one of the shortest entries I've written in a while. Hm.
