Your teeth believe that teeth are for tearing

in response to carrie's friend livejournal nudge, which i have never heard of before, i am updating. also, life has been particularly enjoyable.

ray and i made magnolia bakery cupcakes from scratch together the other night for my birthday. all reviews have been positive and i think they may be ray's new drug of choice. my mom has been referring to this time as my "domestication" because i am cooking, cleaning, and i got a sewing machine for my birthday. i'm super excited about this last thing since i am obsessed with project runway and not that i expect to be good, but i'm still really excited to make something that doesnt look like a knit old lady beer cozy or something. plus my mom and i can sew side by side as she teaches me.

so i turned 21 and ever since authority has been so much nicer to me. i don't even get carded really and every restaurant has brought me unexpected desserts. i went into abc monday and when the lady asked how i was doing i told her i was 21 and i was going to buy alcohol for the first time. dorky? well what did you expect.

on sunday my mom, ann, mary, sarah, allison, and jenny all came to charlottesville to see me, along with too much food, hot pink feather boas and a tiara for me. and even though we looked obnoxious in the fancy restaurant we went to, everyone was really nice and excited for me. it was a really good birthday and thanks to facebook, ive received messages from people i havent seen in a billion years.

my major academic problem lately is my extreme desire to always end my sentences with prepositions and my confusion over when to use whom. and the fact that i got 2 hours of sleep last night and have class until 550. but after that, spring break has officially begun, and i just completed a marathon of work. and plan 9 has been fun and carrie is so the best coworker ever.

valentines day was fun too. ray took me to l'etoile and it was le bomb.

speaking of french, im going to quebec with my ol' travelin buddy mackenzie this summer. and this weekend, BOSTON with my bff allie boo. that trip is should be memorable. i cannot wait to make a fool of myself. but seriously, we also have more constructive plans: to eat oysters, go some place historical, and somehow travel to the past to see the salem witch trials. and best of all i get to spend some real time with my brother whom i see two or three times a year. but first i have to fly on a plane alone. eek!
