Time Management 101

Goodness, it's been awhile! This is the summer where I realize (again) that I do not deal well with unstructured time. So for the last month I have not been doing the stuff I should be doing, and then I get depressed and anxious about all the stuff I'm not doing. Feh!

I've started rereading the time management book that was required for business school last year, and which I found very helpful then. What I like about it is that it is full of lots of different ways you can try organizing your time. You pick the ones that seem the most do-able, see if they work for you, then go back for more. Lots of small steps rather than a big system (TM). Is good.

So for this week, I am going to start logging in my activities. The idea here to focus my attention on what I am actually doing hour by hour each of these summer days. It's hard to jot in "Procrastinate" between 9:30 and 10:00! I'll probably just do it for a week to see where my time is going.
