“Say ahh!” It’s been a month and our relationship has been progressing pretty well. We didn’t feel awkward or negative towards each other anymore. Everytime we’re out on a date, we experience nothing but fun. Where are we now? In a little rooftop cafe called ‘Rosemary Vile’ having a little afternoon tea.
“Where do you want to go after that?”
“Hmm, were do you wanna go?”
“I’m the one asking you”
“I don’t know. I don’t really have any place in mind”
“Why not the amusement park?”
“HAHA, Jjong, are you kid?”
“Whatever, let’s just be kids for today”
“Fine. Here last bite” I put the last piece of blueberry cheesecake into his mouth and waited for the bill to arrive.
“Here sir, your bill”
“Ah, th-” Jonghyun stopped talking and was now staring at the waiter.
“Jonghyun?”
“Ta...Taemin” Taemin? If I remembered a month back, Taemin was the name that Jonghyun was calling for in his sleep right? So he’s Taemin. He looks like he’s younger than us. He had brown hair that reached his shoulders. Small petite body with beautiful facial features (YAY! I<3 Taemin! )
Now that I know him, what is he to Jonghyun?
“Long time no see Jong”
“Long time? It’s only been 2 months”
“And 2 months’ a pretty long time don’t you think”
“Y-yeah...”
“Sorry, but could we pay the bill now?” I felt bad interrupting their little talk but at this rate, we’ll never get to pay the bill and go to the amusement park.
“Ah, sorry... Here you go. Altogether it’s 11562W. ( $13.45 in Singapore’s currency rate )”
“Here you go.” Seeing Jonghyun staring at Taemin, I figure he won’t be in the mood to pay now.
“Thank you. Have a nice day and please do come back again. Bye Jonghyun”
“Taemin!’
“Yeah?”
“Let’s talk”
“Now?”
“No, when you’re done with work”
“Okay, then I’ll call you?”
“Sure”
“Your number...”
“Still the same”
“Okay, enjoy your day”
We walked out of the cafe and made our way to the amusement park. Thank goodness that it isn’t far from here.
“Jonghyun ah, who was that?” I figure that it would be the perfect chance to ask him now
“Oh, Taemin?”
“Mm”
“He’s just a friend of mine”
“He must be really important to you”
“ What makes you say that?”
“Well, if you remembered a month ago we were at the hotel. You fell asleep”
“And?”
“You were calling for him asking him not to go”
“I-I was?”
“Yeah” He didn’t say anything afterwards and we just continued our journey to the amusement park. The awkward atmosphere disappeared instantly when we reached the place.
“WAHH! JJONG LOOK! I wanna play that!”
“HAHA! Chill Key, let’s get the tickets first.” Thankfully, the queue wasn’t long and we got into the place real quick. We rode about 4 rides and we were really having tons of fun. We literally forgot about whatever happened just now.
“That was fun wasn’t it?”
“Haha, yeah! We should have brought a camera to capture these moments”
“Well, we don’t really plan for our dates do we?”
“Nope, that’s why we’re special”
“Yeah, special”
“Special. AHAH!” We were laughing at our reactions when suddenly you better run run run run run run
“Ah, excuse me. Hello?” I was kicking the sand on the ground while walking when I heard his name.
“Oh Taemin, you’re done already?”
“Uhh, am I free now?” He turned to look at me and I just nodded my head. They wanted to talk right? I shouldn’t deprive them of this opportunity.
“Yeah I am.”
“Okay, I’ll meet you at the four season tree then”
“Okay, see you”
“You’re gonna meet him now?”
“Yeah, sorry I can’t bring you home”
“Nah, it’s fine. Come on, I’ll bring you to the four season tree. I have to pass by there in order to get home”
We finally reached the four season tree and saw Taemin standing there. Whoa, he looks different in and out of his working attire. His hair is now tied up in a ponytail with his long fringe swept to one side.
“I’ll see you around then”
“Okay bye” Usually he’ll persuade me to stay a little while longer but today was different. He just said bye, probably because Taemin was here.
Jonghyun’s POV (I have to include him because I’m sure you want to know what’s little Taemin to him right? And I’m sure you all have already guessed it)
“Hi”
“H-hi”
“So what do you wanna talk about?”
“I want answers from you”
“About what?”
“Why’d you leave?”
“That happened a long time ago, shouldn’t you be over it already?”
“No, it’s only been 2 months”
“And you’re already looking for new love.”
“He’s just uhh...a friend of mine”
“I didn’t know that friends feed each other”
“Okay, fine, he’s my date”
“See what I meant?”
“I’m not here to tell you about my life Taemin. I want to know about yours and why did you leave that night?”
“That’s all because of you Kim Jonghyun. All you could think of is music and music. What about me? Between music and me, you always chose music. What am I to you. If you were in my shoes, how would you feel?”
“You could have told me.”
“I did, but you always never have time for me. Whenever we’re together, you always had a pen or a song sheet with you. What am I, a companion for you when you write songs?”
“You’re not any better. In your life there’s only dancing and dancing. Then what about me?”
“You’re important to me Jonghyun. But then I realised that in your heart, that five letter word holds a more important position than I do!”
I was dumbfounded. I never thought I neglected Taemin that much before. It was true that I love music but I love him as well. As much as I love my music, no or maybe even more.
“You wanted to know why I left right. Because I couldn’t take it anymore...It’s too hard”
“Taemin” I pulled him into a hug and he didn’t refuse me or anything... I felt that my shirt was a little wet. He must be crying. I never knew that I hurt him that much... Sorry Taemin and more importantly, sorry Key.
