Perspective

Spent some sweet time with God today. It's midnight, I'm walking through Aldriech Park, it's beginning to rain, I'm on my way to the computer labs, and God reminds me that He wants to spend time with me. =) It was incredibly beautiful that night despite the light rain, but I simply had to lie down on the ground and just enjoy His presence. =D

I saw The Notebook today. It's a touching story. Dan says it's depressing, but I really enjoyed it. It made me think about how many of the things we live for in life are short lived. This movie is a really well told love story, but it sort of acknowledges that love isn't eternal. (I say sort of because it actually DOES imply that the couple's love is sort of eternal, but at the same time it doesn't. It's kind of hard to explain without ruining the movie). Anyways, I liked how the movie reminded me that everything is finite (even love), but God is eternal, and so is His love and His promises. =) Suddenly, everything that seems "worth persuing" doesn't seem all that worth it. I'm not saying love is a bad thing to persue, but it's good to be reminded with an eternal perspective.
