God SPEAKS
I forgot to mention this Bible verse that I came across during my devotional recently:
Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity.
Crazy.. God totally speaks through His word. I've had a really hard time giving "unconditional" love to some of my friends. It's wierd, cause I can love my family and friends I don't have expectations on, but people in my life that I DO place expectations on, I find it difficult to love them unconditionally.
Don't quote me on my interpretation of this verse, but it totally seems like our bothers (friends/brothers in Christ) are GONNA fail us. Adversity means "a state of hardship or affliction". WOW.. SO DEEP. So even though we go through hardship, a friend loves at ALL times. =) Ahhh... I think I might have found a new favorite verse of the moment. =D
On a side note, I realize that last week, I was ALL OVER the place emotionally, and I really feel like I was under attack by Satan. I had SO MANY THINGS going on in my head, and I was getting bitter feelings toward people, about things I was going though. I really asked God to help me deal with it, and I feel MUCH better this week. I think a lot of my mental state had to do with the lack of sleep I was getting too. I was staying up doing lots of homework and dealing with midterms last week, not getting in one-on-one time with God.
Thanks God, for giving me Your peace today.
P.S. It gets me kind of excited how I'm gonna be after this period of wierdness/brokenness, cause I feel like God is teaching me A LOT!
