Catch up time!

So much has been happening lately, and I've been lax about reporting it all here! So here we go...

  1. Today I sent in my application for the MN Library Association's Leadership Institute. More information can be found here. This would be a great opportunity for me to advance and grow into a more active roll in my profession. Cross your fingers for me!
  2. I just heard from a dear friend out East that she may be going into the hospital today. She's had kidney/liver/internal issues and pain since around Thanksgiving, and she has an emergency appt with her Dr. today. I hope they're able to find out what's causing all this for her! Please pray or send positive vibes for her - her name is Marion.
  3. I have a live webcam I visit a lot these days. AfriCAM. It's located at a natural water hole in South Africa, and they have both day & night cameras up. I've seen a VERY male elephant and a family of zebras so far. The friend who introduced me to the site has also seen a wide variety of grazers. No lions yet tho...
  4. Silfren Mere's Twelth Night moot went off very well last weekend. I think everyone had a good time, and I am once again reminded how much fun and how satifying autocratting can be...at least at a small event. I'm not sure I'm crazy enough to volunteer for Ages of War autocrat yet. (For those of you not local here - it's an event Silfren Mere started last year to be shared with a neighboring shire to the south - Heraldshill. The thing that makes it interesting is that Heraldshill is in Calontir & we're in Northshield! Interkingdom budding war anyone? A day I can do...not sure about an entire Memorial Day weekend!) The day went well and no hitches were encountered. Thankfully.
  5. A wedding this weekend is keeping me from attending Nordskogen's Twelth Night event - which makes me bummed. A good friend is become a Pelican and I won't be there for it. >sigh<
  6. The hubby & I are starting our official house hunt tomorrow. Meeting with the bank to see how much money they're willing to give us for a mortgage, & also looking at 6-7 houses. Should be an interesting afternoon to say the least. The lease on the duplex we're in right now goes through 4/1, so we have time to find a great home.
  7. Lenny Cat has now officially been missing 4.5 weeks. He wandered off the Monday before Christmas, & we've not seen hide nor hair of the boy. I can only assume he left to die in peace since he'd had some major bowel issues for 2 months or so and lost 3-4 lbs. Either that or he found a better house to live in. I wish him peace either way. The Hubby said I could get a new kitten when we move into a new place, but he's thinking he wants to push that closer since George Cat has been much more clingy since his brother's been gone. I'm totally cool with this since I've been on a kitty kick for a good year already. Just sad that Lenny had to leave to get a new sister or brother for George.
I think that's about it for now. At least life ain't dull!
