I had a great time this weekend. I went to Raito & AEsa's Coronation in Bemidji with Little John on Friday night. While the traffic going through the Twin Cities on Friday evening sucked, we still made decent time (left Rochester at 5:30 and got to the hotel in Bemidji at 11:30ish). It was wonderful to have time to chat with Merideth who we shared the hotel with. OK...not much time since it was so late when we got in, but we still had a good talk.
Saturday, we woke up to 100% humidity and 60ish degrees. Not the most ideal weather, but the light drizzle was much better than a storm or similar worse weather. The outside events (fighting & merchants) were a bit damp, but I didn't see it put a damper on the festivities. I had some nice conversations with a couple locals which was fun. The event itself was amazing. The site was beautiful, and the decorations the new local group did were outstanding!! I also was really impressed by all the people who were in Japanese garb as requested by TRHs. One of the best events I've been to in a long time.
John had to work Sunday morning, so we hightailed it out of town after dinner. (By the way, the Super Buffet is awesome!!) While we missed the turn for the highway we took into Bemidji, we took 169 south and the drive was rather nice! It didn't take any longer than the Interstate, and it was exactly the same milage as well. Nice surprise that. And NO traffic! Bonus!
Sunday I got to sleep in a bit and then helped the hubby with the deck. Good feeling of accomplishment there. The deck is about 8 feet short of being completely railed in. Hopefully we'll be able to finish it off tomorrow evening. We got rained out last night, so we headed off to get Shannon a suit and other clothes from Kohl's. Good sales going on right now. :)
The entire weekend was capped off by a massage this morning at MSB. It was very nice, but not the deep tissue I prefer. Good and relaxing all the same!
