(no subject)
i'm procrastinating... i spent hours yesterday and today working on my statement of intent for the school psychology program at OISE. applying to school was the escape plan from my last job and it's now the back-up plan for my new job in case my contract doesn't get renewed. so, at least in writing it wasn't complete pressure, but it was still a drag. but i think asking for references is the worst part. i collected some letters from 'referees' before realizing they need to be submitted online. embarrassing! :)
so, now i'm procrastinating from working on an essay about structural and cognitive behavioural therapy family counselling. i also should be working on a joint presentation about 'coping' for work. my supervisor and i are doing it together and when we met earlier this week, he didn't seem at all worried. he seemed perfectly willing to wing it! eep. this is my worst nightmare :)
i had a nice weekend though. i had my office holiday party i got to see all my co-workers getting jiggy with it... including the doctors. it was pretty great. i also witnessed some intense grinding. i wonder if there will be any office gossip tomorrow?!
i got really dressed up for the party (heels, dress, make-up) and i think i definitely surprised some of my co-workers. monday to friday i'm usually the casual end of business casual!
at the party i won a bluetooth earpiece. from everyone's reaction it a great prize, but i have to say i don't really know what bluetooth is. all i know is that people who wear these things look like they're part of the borg from star trek! maybe i'll start having conference calls and trading stocks while riding my bike or look like i'm talking to myself while in 7-11.
the office party was friday night and saturday night i went to a former co-worker's party which was hat themed. everyone had to wear wacky hats. the best thing about parties these days is the food and liquor spread. people will provide booze and lots of food. such a change from seven or so years ago when somebody could be cancelled for taking another person's beer! haha!
