weekend update
i had a really nice weekend. i did a lot of visiting... my cousin, her husband, and her kids were visiting from calgary. it was really nice to spend time with them. kids have so much energy. her five year old was bouncing off the walls until midnight and then was up at 9am running around the house and screaming with his little brother. it wasn't bratty at all- they were just in a good mood, but man, i felt old. i couldn't keep up!
both my cousin and her husband work for calgary transit, so i got all up to date with the new transit happenings in calgary. there are plans to be build two new c-train extensions! one up from the seventh ave line to westhills area i believe and then another going down to mckenzie lake. i don't know what the time frame is, but it's super exciting. we also complained about douchebag c-train cops, which was hilarious.
on friday night i visited with one of my oldest friends from elementary school. it was awesome. we're kind of different, i mean she didn't really go down a super political route, but she's super open and we're always able to talk about things. i'm also always impressed by how much she takes on, how interesting her projects are, and how organized she is. i need more people like this in my life! it was funny because we hung out with her, her boyfriend, and the boyfriend's brother. of course, they asked me about my work and luckily i wasn't too bitter/frustrated/burned out with my job this week because the brother is in human resources for a company we have a contract with. ha, it would have been amazingly awkward if i went on a tangent about how ridiculous my work environment is, how annoyed i am with management, how i sometimes get annoyed with clients etc. luckily, i just went on my other typical tangent about sometimes we get pretty intense calls and even though it's tough, it can be rewarding. very benign. phew! it's usually the good first tangent to take with strangers...
