June Update
I absolutely love my new job stil. I've been here just over a month. The team is great. I'm learning new things every day. In a few ways it was a step down, but it has the potential to bring me much farther up in later years. There is an actual career path here. And I'm getting paid industry standard wages, and working industry standard hours.
The team is very big on outings. We've already had a group b-fast at Denny's paid for by the company. We have a planned bowling night later this week. Lunch hour is sacred. They even invite me to go with them! We've gone to this great Greek restaurant in Scripps Ranch twice. We took a long lunch break to go see Xmen when it came out. That was fun.
Every afternoon between 2 and 2:30 we go to the cafe across the parking lot for coffee. Four of us go. They always wait for me if I'm not at my desk. :) I've never felt this accepted in any company... I take that back. Global Village was like that, but that was because I worked with friends. These people were strangers just a month ago.
Is this what working is supposed to be like? I dig it.
In other news, Pete and I are in the last quarter of our Cisco class. Still loving it. I'm still too chicken to take the first test again, but I need to get over it soon.
