The Crane Legacy: 4.21- Loose Ends

Feb 27, 2009 14:59

This has been sitting on my desktop FOREVER, and I decided to post it today. Sorry about the delay, but I've been engrossed with creating, school, and EPL, so... yeah. ^^;

When we last left off, Dorothy proposed to Pelles, and he accepted, much to her delight. Dorrigan’s suspicions were confirmed, and he decided to do something about it. We pick up now in Sim City with the arrival of Cassiopeia Aberdeen at her home.

Cassiopeia Aberdeen stepped out of her limousine and walked briskly toward her house. She had just come from a meeting concerning the recent construction of the ferry for easier access to Sim City, and her nerves were shot. All she wanted now was to relax with a good, stiff drink.

As she reached for the doorknob, Cassiopeia felt a shiver travel down her spine. Something was wrong.

Someone was in her house.

Cassiopeia turned towards the intruder and looked at him calmly.

Dorrigan Crane, Generation Four spare. Of course. He had been snooping around, even sending his best- correction, only friend into the main KDI building to steal from them.

Like she wouldn’t find out.

The two gazed at each other, each waiting for one to begin talking.

“Fine, I’ll go first and pretend to be surprised. What are you doing here, Dorrigan? Did you come to confront me?” Cassiopeia chuckled.

Dorrigan just continued staring at her.

“Oh, I get it. You’re giving me the Silent Treatment… in my own house. I see what you did there.”

Finally, Dorrigan stood up and quietly walked towards Cassiopeia, who had begun to get angrier by the second.

“Oh, are you ready to tell me what’s going on? Finally, I was starting to get worried.”

Dorrigan started talking as soon as he was in front of her. “You are a sorriest excuse for a Sim I have ever seen. Controlling other people’s LIVES? Making their decisions for them?! Tell me, are any of our achievements OURS? Have we accomplished anything without you meddling in it?! How could you do this? Where did you even get the idea to do such a horrible thing?”

Cassiopeia smiled slightly.

“The fact that you came here and are trying to accuse me shows that you know less than you think you do. I didn’t come up with this plan, or this company! Your great grandmother, the great Valeria Crane did. It was all HER idea. She was the one who wanted to protect you guys, to make sure you never got in any trouble- so go knock on her grave if you want to yell at someone.”

“How dare you accuse my great grandmother of such a thing? You vile, evil woman! Disgracing the dead, amongst your other crimes? You’re despicable.”

“I’m not disgracing the dead, simpleton. I was simply telling you the truth. Check the disc you STOLE from me, it’s all there. Valeria was the first head of KDI.”

Dorrigan just stared at Cassiopeia. What could he say? She had known his great grandmother, he had only heard about her. Could she really have wanted her family to be controlled by someone else like this? Why? What could possibly cause a person to want to control their family like that, even after their death?

“Th-the disc doesn't mention her in relation your schemes!”

It was obvious he was faltering to Cassiopeia. She would relish this victory once he left.

“Then why are you down here? If the disc proves nothing, you’re in my house for no reason. Is that what you’re saying?”

Dorrigan stared at her for a second before making his decision.

“There are other ways to get information.”

With that, Dorrigan walked out of the house, leaving a fuming Cassiopeia.

That insolent brat! How DARE he sneak into her house, confront her without proof, and then threaten her? He definitely had some nerve. Cassiopeia worked hard to always keep her composure no matter the situation, but this was just too much. Not only had someone discovered their secret, but a member of the family?! Outrageous.

Cassiopeia made a face. She was losing control, and she couldn’t allow it to happen. KDI was the only thing she had, the only chance she’d ever been given- she was NOT going to screw it up.

Dorrigan would pay for his actions. Of that there was no doubt.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That night, in Kodak, a vampire was rising from his coffin for the final time. Dorothy had promised to obtain a potion for him, one that would cure him, and Pelles was anxious to use it. He’d been a vampire for 127 years, and he was glad it was about to be over.

It wasn’t like he had chosen it.

In the house, Donato was doing what he did best with yet another new girl.

“Donato, where’d you learn to kiss like that? You’re driving me crazy!”

“Hehe, it’s all my part of my plan baby! Drive you crazy with LOVE!”

The two giggled and continued with their activity, unaware that someone was watching them.

“What’s wrong?”

“AHHHH!”

Lily was shocked to see a ghost, and a terrifying one at that. She had never seen one before, and the experience definitely scared her more than she would liked to admit.

Of course, that didn’t mean she didn’t enjoy it.

Othello frowned a bit as he saw his son with Lily. It still hurt him that his son never got to know that his parents loved him, and here he was, a grown man, acting like a young boy.

In the kitchen, Pelles kissed Dorothy’s hand and began planting kisses all over her arm.

“I see you woke up.”

“Of course, my sweet.”

“I have something for you.”

Pelles pulled Dorothy into a hug, peering at himself in the mirror as he did. There was only Dorothy, as always. Pelles longed for the days when he could look in a mirror and see himself- truly see what he had become.

It had been a long time.

“Do you? What is it?”

“It’s a surprise.”

“Oh?”

Dorothy pointed to the table in the parlor.

“Come on.”

They walked together inside, and stopped in front of the table.

Pelles looked quickly at other glowing liquid, his salvation. It was impossible, he never thought he'd be one of the few to see it.

“Is that… Is that- how did you get that, Dorothy? Only gypsies have the kind of magic necessary to create it, how did you manage it?”

Dorothy looked away as she spoke.

“It doesn’t matter how I got it.. What matters is that I did, and you’re going to be alright. You’re going to be human again.”

Pelles looked at her, and for the first time, truly saw it- beneath everything, he saw that Dorothy loved him, truly loved him. The only thing she wanted was him.

Pelles pulled Dorothy into a deep kiss.

“I love you, Dorothy.”

“I love you too, Pelles.”

Pelles walked to the table and held the potion in his hands.

It was his last night as a vampire.

He’d be alive again.

It was over.

“Your skin…. I had never seen it…”

Pelles smiled. “Do you like it? I mean, do you like me? Now that you can see me, all of me?”

“I love it. I love you, Pelles. Everything about you.”

Pelles began to plant kisses on Dorothy’s hand, as always.

“Good. In case you didn’t know, you’re stuck with me forever. Well, until we die. Forever.”

Dorothy smiled.

“I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

Later that night, Pelles snuck to the mirror, and gasped at what he saw.

Himself.

For the first time in 130 years, Pelles was looking at himself in the mirror. His skin had returned to its normal state, his eyes were their original light blue- Pelles Chaucer was back.

Now if only he could prevent Dorothy from ever finding out what he had done.

That’s it for Generation 4 folks! FINALLY. I’ve been playing and blogging them for over a year and a half, and I’m glad it’s over. Next update Dorothy gets MARRIED!

About Dorrigan, I’ve had that scene shot forever. In hindsight, I should have had more face shots, but that’s how you know you’ve grown, right? Looking back at your old stuff and cringing? I know I do.

What Dorothy did to get the potion and what Pelles is hiding will eventually be revealed, don’t worry. I’m not just throwing stuff out there for only me to remember. XD

I have a meta-ish thing planned about this update, I’ll probably post it soon. Stay tuned!

(I also wanted to make clear that this was all played and shot back in the summer, hence why my pictures are still oddly distorted and I'm using my old skins and eyes. Just wanted to remind you.)

Thanks for reading!
