10-Year Anniversary!

Mar 13, 2011 20:10

Hi LJ! I know I have been AWOL and uncommunicative but I realized that today is my TEN YEAR anniversary of creating my journal and I wanted to say HI! and THANK YOU! and I LOVE YOU ALL! and all those other things. I have met some of my best friends here. I have talked about awesome times and lousy times and times that, in grand scheme of things, ( Read more... )

Wow, ten years. Happy anniversary.

I have a lot of happy memories of you, but I'm going to go with staying up till the crack of dawn chatting about the Justice League High School AU. (Bruce hiding behind the bleachers writing terrible poetry--good times, good times.)

And I'm pretty sure I have known you even longer than that! Thank you!

Bruce and his emo goth poetry!!! You know, I borrowed a disk reader a while back so I could dump everything I had on 3.5" disks onto a flash drive and I'm pretty sure I've got it allllllll on there. Stand by for spammage. Um. When I find the right flash drive.

I still have no job so I am being a hermit but we really should hang out soon! *hugs*

I have most of it saved myself--I cracked up when I went back through the chats and found you citing a movie with Joseph Gordon Levitt in it. :) And it's still a really adorable AU.

I would love to see you sometime--I was just thinking I should email you.

(Actually, while I'm thinking about it, I'm going to see STAGE DOOR at the AFI theater this Wednesday; are you interested?)

OMG, was it 10 Things I Hate About You? Because I totally bought that movie a few months back.

And it's still a really adorable AU.

It totally is. I feel like we could still do something with it. And its cast of THOUSANDS.

Oooh. I just looked it up because I haven't seen it and Ginger Rogers retrospective! Katharine Hepburn! Lucille Ball! Sign me up.

Yup, that's the one--you were envisioning our Power Girl as looking like the Katherine-analogue.

It totally is. I feel like we could still do something with it. And its cast of THOUSANDS.

I am tempted, myself. (Turns out I am still desperately in love with vulnerable class-clown Wally, among other things.) And the advantage of an AU is that it's less noticeable if it doesn't involve any canon from the last seven years. :)

Stage Door: it's showing at 7:20; we could meet at 6-6:30 and have dinner beforehand?

Wish I could have gone, because--guys, this is really weird--I had *just* run across mention of Stage Door while doing research for (theoretical) fic, and the play/movie actually provided an idea to break the block I'd been having with it.

This is hivemind at work again, I know it. :)

Glad to know the hivemind is still in operation. :) Wish you could have gone too; it was fun (although a good bit more traumatizing than I had expected, not having looked at a plot summary ahead of time).

What kind of (purely, strictly theoretical) fic were you researching?

Well, as it turns out, when you're researching places where a single woman might live in 1930's New York, and you type "New York boarding house 1930s" into google, you get mentions of Stage Door. :)

At least the actresses are less likely to squawk about Ursula Zandt's weird hours and lifestyle.

Ursula Zandt...? *googles* Oh! Oh, oh my! Admittedly I don't know if a theatrical boarding house takes non-performers--certainly they're going to look at her funny--but rent is rent, right? And I would desperately love to see her dumped in the middle of the characters of the movie.
