An opening you don't hear every day...
So I woke up today and discovered that my cat had puked on my bra. Now, the important question, which not one person has asked, should be, "Were you wearing it at the time?" (No. No, I was not.) And yes, I had others. Still. It's one of those days where the best option is likely, "Go back to bed," and yet I did not do that either.
In better news, I read losingntrnslatn's Bourbon and Branch and a Broad, which is a Dave Rossi (Criminal Minds) character study - go on and read, I'll wait - and it made reference to this deleted scene on the Season 3 DVDs. My season 3 DVDs are visiting a friend presently, but fortunately, YouTube is there for me.
So About This Scene...
losingntrnslatn believes that the discussion in Rossi's office that Emily's apologizing for is the one in 3x07 where she, Morgan, and Reid are trying to profile him, based on what they find in his office and I can go for that. It makes sense, it goes with a scene we've seen before, it works with the scene - especially given the fic's hint that Rossi's testiness was a slip and he was inserting his own issues.
But the deleted scene is from 3x11: Birthright, which is four episodes after the one where they profile Rossi in his office. And while Prentiss does talk about how the taupe walls may mean loneliness and a desire to escape from the world, Rossi starts talking to her about why he "moved out" and that he and his last wife couldn't make it work.
But I don't think there's another deleted scene that addresses this. So either it was going back to the far-earlier scene or it was referring to another scene, maybe something in the script that was never filmed, necessitating this one be cut?
What do you guys think? 3x07 or unfilmed scene? If the latter...write me that scene! What do you think she said to him that she felt the need to apologize for later? Or just talk to me. I'm all about the procrastinating today.
ETA: Also, I'm writing fic where my characters want to have phone sex again. WTF, brain? WTF?
