Of course! Everyone can play!

When it's a kid case, Emily always gets to be the bad cop. It's not that Rossi minds. In fact it adds to his secret profile of her - no one ever technically told him about any moratorium on intra-team profiling. At first he thought she was jealous - that she was pissed at people who abused the family and children she didn't have. But after the thing with Father Silvano, he wonders if it's something else - if she's punishing the unsub for her inability to punish herself.

"Did you just let him touch your little girl like that," she barks in Mary Archer's face. "Didn't you hear her crying? Why didn't you go running to her?"

"I'm sorry," Mary sobbed, "I just - I didn't hurt her, I couldn't - I just - "

"Prentiss," Rossi breaks in, because Mary's not the one they want. She's guilty of failure to act, and he'll be happy enough to establish that and move on to her shitbag boyfriend. "She didn't do anything to the kid."

"Hah," Emily says coldly. "She had a legal duty - every parent has a legal duty to their own child."

"But she didn't know about it, did you, Mary?" Rossi asks, soothingly. He sits down at her other side and leans in. "You didn't know what he was doing, not really?"

"I - I should have known," Mary sniffles. "I knew he went into her room. I knew she didn't want him around, I just, I didn't know how...."

"You weren't able to help?" Rossi sympathizes. It's easy to play on a guilty parent and it's unfortunate they have to do it this way. But Mary is going to have to choose between her daughter and her sorry excuse for a man and if this is how it gets done, Rossi's not going to lose sleep over it.

"I should have dumped him," Mary chokes out, "I should have taken her away but...he has a gun and he used to take it with him and...."

"Mary," Emily interrupts, and her eyes are gleaming with her gotcha expression. "Can you take us to the gun?"

Requires to charge with failure to act:
1) Legal duty
2) Knowledge of facts giving rise to the duty
3) Ability to help

Excellent!

It's perfectly in character and beautifully done.

Loved this line:

no one ever technically told him about any moratorium on intra-team profiling

Awesome! Thank you.

I'd say address Hot Pursuit, Inventory and Special Needs, with anyone that meets your fancy, but I suppose you meant to take prompts in a literal sense and not figuratively, right?

ATM I think this sounds like an excellent prompt. Oh, wait, you meant characters that meets my fancy. ;)

Let me get back to you on that one. When I'm not daydreaming about a good massage.
