As part of my awesome weekend, libitina and I went up to the Franklin Institute to see Star Trek: The Exhibition and see the Ult!Star Trek movie again, this time on the IMAX screen. If the intent of that exhibit was to make me want to buy every season of every version of the franchise ever the minute I walked out...it succeeded.

BUT. reccea discovered that ( Read more... )

Serpentine run and elbow crawl. SRSLY.

And WTF no red shirts? Completely disconcerting.

I found the running and crawling totally embarrassing. And you know I don't even have an embarrassment squick. :P

Also, your icon is made of win! Especially because the bitch Spock is choking is Jim Kirk.

Chekov doesn't appear until season 2. One of the biggest gaffes in Trek is when Chekov meets Khan in "Warth of Khan" and claims to remember him when Chekov wasn't even there.

Also, Shatner has some kind of weird macho effeminacy thing happening. He's very camp.

Oh, I forgot about the "Wrath of Khan" thing and Chekov not showing up 'til later! Thanks! (I haven't been terribly fannish about Trek in like...a lot of years that we'll not count, and it's so much fun remembering all the little details!)

There are a couple other episodes where you'll catch ladies wearing the pants uniform. I like to pretend it's like catholic school where the ladies can where the skirt or the pants (or, idk, anybody can wear the skirt or the pants) but one is always more popular/fashionable for no real reason, so pretty much everyone wears that one.

*cracks up* That works. And admittedly, if I had legs like Uhura's, I would totally be rocking the miniskirt.

Did you watch? Was it FANTASTIC?

(I'm not sure anyone's really motivated to watch Nemesis. I know I'm not...still.) :P

I didn't *completely* hate Nemesis. It had its fun moments. Granted, a lot of them were "We're probably not doing another one, so what do you guys want for your moment" moments ("Never saw the sun/shining so bright/never saw things/looking so bright"), but enjoyable, nonetheless. Personally, I thought it was weird that Picard's clone was telepathic, and the plot was apparently so thin I can't actually remember it, but, y'know, moments. :)
