Friday PM Post of Oh, Hey, I am Here
Why is it always easier to post something new than to answer comments and emails? Oh, well, I need something to do tonight.
1) I am calling the new Star Trek continuity "Ultimate Star Trek." Not because it supersedes the original in any way, but because when Marvel Comics realized that Ben Grimm and Reed Richards probably can't serve together in WWII anymore, they started a whole new continuity and while some of those stories and interpretations are on complete crack, some of them are just...wearing black leather instead of blue and yellow spandex, and swapping in Samuel L. Jackson to play Nick Fury instead of David Hasselhoff. If this fails to catch on, I'm kind of a fan of ST: Reboot. Look, that was VERY IMPORTANT. Trust me.
2) I put my name in the Anonymous Writing Feedback Meme and then never told anyone. I kind of like the anonymous things because I feel people aren't just saying things to be nice - they're saying them because they actually mean them. But I'm weird and have a definite grudge against passive-aggressiveness (even though I am often guilty of it myself) so you know. YMMV. Anyway, if you have sekrit things to tell me, my thread is here. The only thing I ask is that you leave my failure at deadlines alone. I am pretty hyper-aware of everything I have failed to do, on time or in some cases...at all. (Two...promised...SGA...stories..unfinished....)
3) I have Spiderman fruit snacks.
4) 94.7's latest - oh, never mind. It was Gin Blossoms' "Follow You Down" but it's from 1996, which was just yesterday, right? It was no 1992 anyway. (It was also the year I graduated from high school, so we're just going to pretend it was recent.)
5) College Students are Not Carefree. Rather, they are depressed and intimidated about the world they're going into. The only surprise here is that it took people this long to figure that out.
