Dear "Fresh" 94.7 FM:

Wonderwall is not one of the "fresh hits of today." I wasn't legal when Wonderwall came out. At least come up with a slogan that's like, "fresh hits of today and yesterday" or something.

They keep playing songs that were new when Avi and I lived in LA. Which was, oh, 12-13 years ago. I want the last incarnation of 94.7 back, pronto.

Yeah, Wonderwall? October 1995. (I had to look it up but it was worth it.) I don't mind the music...but it is by no means new. :P

I'm pretty sure "Fresh" is supposed to be code for "Songs we think women like." Which, considering some of the stuff they play, is a little insulting.

As are their promo spots where they play a snippet of a song and go, "Ugh! That's so washed up! We don't play that!" and I think, but I *like* Disco Inferno.

Ah, that might be why I start to twitch when I listen to the station for more than 5 or 10 minutes. ::shakes head:: Can we have The Globe back? Or The Arrow? Or whatever the heck 94.7 was before that? I can't even keep track at this point.

So now, all I can think is that they got their name from the Summer's Eve commercial. I will never be able to listen to the radio with a straight face again.

Hahahaa, we have this station that calls itself the "new rock station," and then will immediately go into a Nirvana song.

*covers face* Dude. I got nothing but flail. And I like Nirvana! Because I am hipper now than I was when I was 15. But that is SO not new. I'm going to start going around telling everyone I'm 16 now, if they want to play it like that.
