When We Were Awesome
These never seem to work for me; maybe it's my timing. But let's try it. I'm rolling my eyes over the arguments about how we should feel about various SGA storylines and how we should be reacting, what reasons we have for watching SGA, etc. etc.
I have three classes today and I'm over the negativity. Give me your SGA gal pics, your fic recs about our ladies, point me to the art, leave me a drabble, prompt me to give you one. Talk about when our women were awesome. I'll start.
1) Elizabeth putting the smack down on Kavanagh's ego in "38 Minutes".
2) Simpson standing up for her scientific position in "38 Minutes".
3) Teyla kicking John's ass around the gym in "Hot Zone".
3) Miko volunteering to sit in the chair in...argh, one of the Siege episodes.
4) Elizabeth fighting the militarization of Atlantis in "Home".
5) Katie dumping Rodney because they weren't on the same page. (Go on and scoff, but I've known too many women stick with a guy hoping he'd "come around" long after she already knew he wasn't going to marry her.)
6) Teyla running Atlantis while Elizabeth, John, and Rodney were on Earth in "Intruder" and in the Season 3 opener when Elizabeth returned to Earth.
7) Keller > Suspension Bridge
8) Keller and her Wisconsin shooting skills in "Missing".
9) Teyla being entirely awesome in "Missing".
10) Teyla and Elizabeth talking about the female civilian/male military divide in "First Strike".
11) Sam climbing boxes and throwing grapples in "Trio". (And putting up with Rodney.)
12) Teyla tricking the Wraith queen in, um, the underwater one.
I did this during Anti-Trust class, so you people with more time on your hands must be able to cough up something. I triple dog dare you.
Edit: As I find them, some of my favorite fics about females. (I'm alliterating.)
