We are using the Valley of Death icon for my favorite flash drive which is has malfunctioned and is no longer recognizable to either George OR Gracie. I considered having a meltdown about this last night, since it is 128MB of resumes, fanfic, and assorted other things, but I recently emailed myself my latest resume and writing sample, and most of the fic is up on Google Docs somewhere. (Um, I might have lost parts of the marriage fic, raisintorte....) Or posted, or in email, or somewhere else that means I can find it again.
I hate data loss. Does anyone have a secret trick for recovering things from malfunctioning USB drives?
Also, Marlowe was knocking around my nutcrackers this morning and when I went to pull him off my television cabinet, he twisted and pushed and I ended up with this HUGE scratch down my leg. I am such a battered cat-owner.)
