Girly and Cat, All in One Post

For those of you disinclined to the girly stuff, I'll do the cat thing first:

I took the cucumber slices off my eyes tonight to find a tiny black cat sitting on the closed lid of my toilet, staring at me. I should have guessed - he's been all about the bathroom for the last couple days and the tub was filled with pink water. The best part was watching him put a paw in and taste it.

Dear Lush:

Please stop being so awesome. I can't afford to have you this awesome and at Tyson's Corner. But your Catastrophe Cosmetic is the best thing ever.

Love,
Smitty

Lush at Tyson's Corner is open and having their Grand Opening from noon to 4pm this coming Saturday. I will be in Delaware with raisintorte and reccea but I will be with you in spirit!

I have discovered that as I get closer to thirty 29-for-the-2nd-Time, I'm getting more and more of my mother's dry skin. (THANKS MOM.) So I tried the Dream On Bath Bomb which was very nice and turned my water a lovely shade of pink/orange sherbet. Still, I slathered up with coconut body butter from The Body Shop afterward and my skin still sucked it right in. *scowl*

Also, the Catastrophe Cosmetic mask (which is made mostly of blueberries) is the best thing ever for the red skin on my face but you can only get it at stores because it needs to be refrigerated. $10 for 4 treatments isn't bad but it sure makes it something I can't use every day.

Speaking of every day, I was using Aveda's Creme Cleanser on my face but it's just ridiculously expensive and I'm looking for something drugstore-priced with the same kind of indications. Because up until I bought the Aveda stuff, I was still in the teenage mindset of needing oil-reducing, acne-prevention wash.

And in that same vein, anyone have recs for facial moisturizers? I have a ton of sample-sized ones (probably a dozen Clinique ones, at least) or ends from various purchases, but it's something I've never been terribly consistent with.

Thanks!

girly, marlowe
