Fandoms I'm Not Actually In

A bit of a roundup on observations throughout the week.

House 3x20: House Training
So what we have learned tonight is that Wilson? NEVER SEES IT COMING. Also that House is a creepy obnoxious stalker, but that's not news.

Heroes 1x19: .07%
Okay, just for the record, I gave up on waiting to watch Heroes until the whole thing was out on DVD. I kept...catching bits and pieces of it, and then I watched an episode, and then I watched a marathon on Sci-Fi and it was all mostly to keep myself from getting spoiled. Really. *sigh* I even like Nikki/Jessica. I KNOW.

Okay, but a word about Petrellicest, so if you want to jump ship, go now. I...I just kinda don't see the Wincest in Supernatural. It's just a personal thing but there was only one scene in the first season that made me go, "Dude, that's not brotherly." There were a few more that that in second season and I'm all "live and let live" when it comes to fandom (it certainly doesn't BOTHER me) but DUDE. What is UP with the Petrellis? Are they TRYING to make us think that? I mean, for a while, I had this theory that the writers were trying to sell a macho, affectionate, male bonding kind of Italian family love and the actors were just too pretty to pull it off. But no. Mama's a cold fish (and I saw that with LOVE because Mama Petrelli reminds me of Dinah Lance, Sr. in all the best ways) and what I'd seen of Papa wasn't too warm and fuzzy either (although I've mostly seen later episodes, so if I'm wrong, I'm wrong).

Point being, this week's? Oh my GAWD. They're KIDDING right?

My obsession with X-Files season 8 and Robert Patrick as John Doggett continues. To the point where I'm watching fanvids on YouTube. About the only things that have saved me from renting/buying the last two seasons are finals and...

I. Um. Bought the whole series set of Buffy the Vampire Slayer the other week. I blame amireal. It's oh-so-pretty and I keep having to remind myself that it's not necessary to WATCH all the disks in the next 30 days to make sure everything's perfect. Except, you know, it wouldn't hurt to check.

Also, on the fandom that I AM in, but in the pairing that none of you friended me for, the rousing success of the sticksandsnark Rodney/Teyla Thing-a-Thon has made me wonder if there might be interest in a Weir/Sumner Thing-a-Thon. I don't expect to have anywhere near the level of participation but I figure a dozen people would make it worthwhile, right?
