Driveby Question

What kind of information would a hospital give out over the phone twenty years ago? Medical status, room number, whatever?

From what I remember, it would have depended who was asking. If it was a family member, they would have told you medical status, but otherwise the only thing you would get (like today) is a room number (provided the person hadn't asked for them not to give it out).

When I had a friend in the hospital when I was a teenager, the hospital gave me room number, status (i.e., critical, stable, etc.), and info on visiting hours.
