I'm THIS Many!
This was my birthday weekend (yes, I appropriate the entire weekend for it) and it was a Very Good One.
I went up to La Casa Porcupine on Thursday to party (in geek manner) with kerithwyn and miss_porcupine. I dishonored myself by falling asleep on the floor at ten o'clock but before that, we had dinner (chicken!) and Pinky & the Brain and assorted other geekery. The next morning we had waffles and sat around mocking Devin Grayson's "Inheritance," and I investigated The Golden Age Sandman Archives (my present from 'rith, which arrived just in time to be brought to NYC with me). Dude, Dian Belmont? Was a hussy even back then and all the more fabulous for it. Have I mentioned lately how much I want to be Dian when I grow up?
'rith abandoned us early for Dexcon (sniff) so Nika and I watched Pentagon Wars and since she had given me the first season of CSI:NY, we mainlined "Officer Down", "Tanglewood", "On the Job", and just in case she didn't love Danny enough, "Run Silent, Run Deep" which was on my computer for pimping purposes. (Which, random sidenote, are there ANY fanvids for the show?) We picked up the Pegasus Project (not jossed!) later and Irresistible the next day (Batman!) and then Nika packed me a chicken (chicken!) sandwich to take on the road with me. (She even toasted the bread so it was nice and warm.)
I got puppy love from control_freak80's dog that afternoon and we took a walk and dug in the dirt and chased toys.
Dad took me out to dinner today, to Texas Roadhouse, where we ate steak and talked about 3-month LIBOR (we're geeks) and then we went for ice cream. Brewsters has "Birthday Cake" ice cream, which seemed appropriate so I got a scoop. It's cake batter ice cream with blue icing and rainbow sprinkles swirled into it. It actually tastes like birthday cake - cold birthday cake. And I now have new sneakers and a new deskchair (which has been needed since the Unfortunate Raisinette Incident) and ALSO, auburnnotlisa has posted new parts of Ardhanarishvara.
So it's been a good time. :)
