She really can't taste anything?

Dysgeusia is a change or loss of the sense of taste. It's a medical symptom that usually presents as a side effect of radiation therapy, various medical problems, etc. Complete inability to taste is actually ageusia but I didn't find that word until I did further research ( ... )

What Cameron's experiencing in the story (not on the show) is an apathy toward differentiating or experiencing flavors brought on my emotional trauma and depression.

Ah, ok. I wasn't sure if this was canon or not.

The fic was very, very nicely done! I've been nervous about reading any House fic, even yours, because I find it difficult to believe that, sans four medical consultants, it'd be impossible to write a fic that captured the sheer brilliance of Gregory House, M.D. -- Mother Duck.

This piece was a pleasant, pleasant surprise. It filled in the holes, danced around the edges, all while feeling cold, clinical, and awesome like the show does. I'm looking forward, now, to going back through your LJ and picking up on your House fic and musings. :)

Thanks! I admit, most of the House fic out there focuses on soap-opera interpersonal relations aspects and ignores the medicine. There are a couple of good ones, though, and I've been working on one that I felt needed medicine in the background. Sadly, yes, I'd sell a kidney on the black market for just one medical advisor to say, "Um. You can't put a shooting victim in an MRI." Yes.

This is probably one of the most interesting House fics I've read.

I really enjoyed it and hope to see more from you in the future!

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. I'm not sure if there will be more in the future or not, but this is surely impetus to try!

Wow. Just...wow.

That was really good. And I can completely see it happening, too. I always wondered how Cameron dealt with all her issues, and this seems like a likely, though rather depressing, possibility.

Great job!

*blush* Thank you! Cameron's too highly functional to spend all her time crying over centrifuges, so I figured this was something that allowed her to compartmentalize her problems while inadvertantly making her healthier. (Or at least thinner.)
